5A students are studying Western Expansion in the USA from 1760 to 1850. They studied frontier homes, food and clothing, tasks and chores, dangers, schools, and fun and amusements. Each child became an expert on one of these topics and taught it to his or her group. The children took notes and will write a five paragraph essay on "Life on the Frontier." This way they are polishing their reading comprehension, writing, and geography skills.
